Site Plan

This is the plan for sugarcityid.org

Purpose

The purpose of this site is to give you an idea of what it is like to grow up in Sugar City, ID. I also intend to amuse those who currently live in Sugar City or have lived there before, that they may reminisce on what it is / was like to live there.

Audience

I expect the following people to take interest in this site:
My family
People who want to move to Sugar City
All who live in Sugar City currently or have in the past

Why do you want to look at my site?

My site is unique in that it gives personal experiences and situations that ring true for all that live in Sugar City, or any small town, for that matter. Every small town has certain traits that you don't generally see in other larger cities. Sugar City is also unique in its extremely high concentration of members of the LDS church, also known as Mormons, which gives the town its own set of characteristics that set it apart from others.

Sites I Like

gmail.com
Pros: In my opinion, gmail is the best emailing system in existence. It has chat incorporated in it, or you can choose to not have chat show if you don't want to chat with people. It has all the storage space you could ever want, and provides an extremely convenient folder system that you can customize to your personal needs.
Cons: When pasting text into an email, particularly numbered lists and the like, gmail doesn't keep the same formatting.
Wikipedia
Pros: You can find all kinds of information about everything!
Cons: The information that is found on Wikipedia is not always the most reliable since anyone can add whatever they want to it.
facebook.com
Pros: You can find anyone, no matter how long ago you last saw them, as long as you know their name and what they look like. Thus, it is a wonderful tool for finding long lost friends.
Cons: Facebook has a lot of virtual life games that waste precious time, and it can be really annoying when everyone is trying to invite you to them.

Sample Content

Home Page

The home page will mainly contain links to other pages, according to the different segments of life in Sugar City that I will illuminate.

Where Sweet Things Grow

This page will talk about the blissful days as a child that I spent with my family in Sugar City. And although we moved three times while I was growing up, each new house was only a block or so away from the old house.

Where the Wild Things Are

My teenage years actually weren't too terribly wild, compared to many other teenagers in other, bigger cities. Though, it was still possible for teenagers to find trouble if they were looking hard enough for it. I know, only because I heard stories of it. That's one pretty certain thing about small towns: everyone knows all the gossip about everyone, sadly enough.

Leaving the "Bubble"

When I started college, I still was living in Sugar City, so I didn't actually leave until I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Calgary, Alberta in Canada. Then I had the opportunity to experience life outside of little, humble Sugar City, and realize what everyone else's lives were like growing up.
